And Peter answered him and said, LORD, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, LORD, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Peter was on the rough sea with the rest of the disciples when he looked into the storm and saw a figure that resembled Jesus their teacher.
Peter called out, Lord of its you, command me to come to you on the water
Jesus simply says - COME
With faith Peter stepped on the water walking to His savior....
Then, like us, he got discouraged and allowed the environment of the storm, the waves, the sea, to distract him. He lost focus, he lost faith and down he went into the water to drown. But in his trouble he called Jesus save me!
Jesus.....reached out and caught Peter. Oh you of little faith...
Our lesson is to have faith in the one who saves Jesus is there all we need to do is call upon him when we are in a storm thinking there is no way out. Jesus will take you by the hand and save you from drowning in your situation. Nothing is too great for Jesus. We just have to have FAITH and ask to be saved.
